    Farmers' Market Sales

    We are looking for a dependable, friendly, energetic, personable, passionate, and vibrant salesperson to sell our cold-pressed snack bar, Yummmm!Bar, at local farmers' markets and/or occasional popup events. The ideal person for this job will be someone who appreciates eating healthy and tasty snacks, in line with health and wellness, can descriptively sell Yummmm!Bar with ease to our audience, and isn’t afraid to pull someone into the booth to hand them a sample.  Most of our audience are kids so it's a plus if you like working with kids.  Sales ability and experience are a must. This job is perfect for someone that enjoys working independently, talking to a lot of people, and doesn't mind minimal lifting/set up.  We are also looking for individuals who are proactively seeking new customers and opportunities, while continuing to strengthen relationships with current customers.

    Our items are pre-packaged, similar to if you were to buy them in the grocery store and is stored in a cooler.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    MUST HAVE AND BE WILLING TO USE PERSONAL VEHICLE FOR WORK. Valid DL and clean driving record are required. This vehicle must be either a hatchback, truck, small SUV, van or minivan, wagon or some type of vehicle that can hold market setup and products (ie. canopy, large ice chest, tables, etc.)

    PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SUITABLE VEHICLE.

    Must be willing to drive to pick up products in Huntington Beach, drive to market location, and back to Huntington after the market. We will do our best to make this as convenient as possible.

    Must be able to lift 50+lbs. Ice chests with product and canopy.

    Market locations can be in LA and/or Orange County. Pickup and drop off location for product and setup is in Huntington Beach. So, to be clear, you will be picking up product and setup in Huntington Beach, then driving to market to sell, and returning to Huntington Beach to drop off setup/monies etc. Market times are usually from 9am-2pm or so, sometimes 1pm. Plan for these shifts to be 7am-3pm.

    This is a fun job; you will meet a lot of people and be interacting with the public constantly. You will be representing our brand so fun, playful, but respectful are all important qualities to possess. Pay is $120 base with sales incentives up to $200 a day.

    Responsibilities

    • Knowledgeable about our products, target audience, and industry
    • Educate our customers about the products and its value
    • Network and track possible opportunities to sell at other various channels/co-partnerships
    • Document inventory pre-events and post-events
    • Set personal goals and document all sales/count cash
    • Collect customer information for future sales or promotions
    • Run sales transactions through card reader or collect cash
    • Pass out pre-packaged samples

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

    • Must be able to have transportation to work
    • Have a big car for an expandable 10x10 canopy (50lbs), cooler with wheels, foldable table, rollup banner, and a box with display items
    • Setup/teardown at farmer’s markets/events (involves putting up a canopy)
    • Bend and lift up-to 50 pounds
    • Stand and sit for extended periods of time
    • COVID-19 considerations:  It is highly recommended to wear a mask the entire shift at the market

      Work Location

      • Saturdays - Marina Del Rey Farmer's Market 
      • Sundays - Newport Beach, Riviera Village Farmer's Markets

      Bar Crafter 

      Looking for individuals who can make bars in our small business home.  Upbeat positive attitude, dive right in, desire to help and improve processes, passionate, transparent, honest, and desire to improve and grow.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and well organized.

      Responsibilities

      • Combine ingredients in mixer and transport mixture to pans and then freezer
      • Maintains a clean and sanitized kitchen and preparation area
      • Prepare and fill dried ingredients in empty containers
      • Prepare prep work for “Bar Wrappers” shift
      • Occasionally grind chia seeds in blender, cut parchment paper and foil, add labels to bags, packaging component, etc.
      • Help with wrapping samples once a month (optional)

      Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

      • Bend and lift up-to 50 pounds
      • Move inventory from storage to shelf/preparation areas
      • Repetitive movement of hands (lift heavy mixing bowl, add mixture to pan, press mixture, move batches/products around)
      • Daily work with knives, mixers, bakeware and utensils
      • Stand and sit for extended periods of time 
      • Must be able to have transportation to work

      Qualifications

      • Holds a state and/or local food handlers’ card (online course available)
      • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and busy times
      • Ability to be flexible with work hours during big event preparations
      • Follow small business procedures for safety, proper food handling, and sanitation according to local, state, and federal health code regulations
      • Must be 18 years of age or older or in accordance of state law
      • Must be eligible to work in the United States
      • Masks and gloves required during work hours

      Schedule

      • 4-hour shift on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays
      • Evening Shift: 4:30pm-8:30pm (we're flexible if you like to have an earlier shift)

      Bar Wrapper 

      Looking for individuals who can wrap bars in our small business home.  Upbeat positive attitude, desire to help and improve processes, passionate, transparent, honest, determined to succeed and desire to improve and grow, ability in working in a fast-paced environment, and well organized.

      Responsibilities

      • Cut batches into bar size
      • Wrap bars with foil and add labels to bars
      • Package bars inside bags
      • Document inventory and count number of bags
      • Pack for the farmers' markets and fulfill orders
      • Maintains a clean and sanitized kitchen and preparation area
      • Occasionally grind chia seeds in blender, cut parchment paper and foil, add labels to bags, packaging component, etc.
      • Help with wrapping samples once a month

      Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

      • Bend and lift up-to 50 pounds
      • Move stock from storage to shelf/preparation areas

      Personal Assistant

      Looking for someone who is well-organized, has great time management skills and be able to work without a lot of guidance. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, MS Office + Google email/calendar knowledge, and can keep many projects at discretion and confidential.  Ability to organize daily workload priorities, capacity to meet deadlines, follow through, and be flexible during high peak seasons (holidays).  This role includes administrative, management and marketing duties.

      Responsibilities

      • File and organize electronic documents (Dropbox, Google Doc, Asana)
      • Act as the point of contact among vendors, contractors, employees, and customers
      • Manage multiple calendars (editorial, events, meetings)
      • Assist in putting together processes and training manuals
      • Purchase supplies and ingredients
      • Manage team schedule
      • Handle receipts, expenses, and bookkeeping using QuickBooks
      • Run reports (QuickBooks, Shopify, Venmo, Card Reader activities)
      • Data entry (sales, customer info, etc.)
      • Social media schedule, comments/message management
