The Journey to Yummmm!Bar’s New Packaging
Fresh Look, Same Favorites
If you’ve been with Yummmm!Bar since the early days, you know how much love and care goes into every single bar we make. From day one, I wanted every Yummmm!Bar to feel special — like a little gift you get to unwrap. That’s why I chose the colorful foils. Each bar was hand-wrapped with intention, so when customers opened it, they’d feel that extra bit of joy — as if they were opening a present made just for them.

As Yummmm!Bar started to grow, I knew it was time to take things to the next level. I began spending time at Whole Foods, wandering through the refrigerated bar section, studying packaging from other brands. I paid attention to the materials, the textures, and the way each package told its story. I wasn’t just researching — I was visualizing Yummmm!Bar on those shelves one day.
Then, one Saturday at the Yorba Linda Farmers Market, I met Brian Scharr. He’d worked in the packaging business for years, and after chatting about my vision, he offered to help. He gave me samples to review and talked me through the possibilities. At that point, I wasn’t quite ready to make the leap — I didn’t feel fully equipped to move forward.
But sometimes, timing is everything. A little while later, I revisited the idea and decided to trust the process. Brian was incredible — patient, knowledgeable, and so supportive. We experimented with different sizes, tested how the materials held up in the freezer, and discussed every little detail. I knew I wanted a matte finish over a glossy one, something that felt elevated yet true to the brand.
Once the materials were set, it was time to dive into design. I didn’t want to stray too far from our original foil colors — those vibrant hues had become part of our identity, helping customers instantly recognize their favorite flavors. I went back to Whole Foods for more inspiration, taking notes on how other brands balanced design, storytelling, and shelf appeal.

Then came the fun part: collaborating with my graphic designer, Irene. I shared my vision — something that stayed true to Yummmm!Bar’s retro beach vibe, while feeling fresh and modern. Together, we brainstormed ideas until the perfect design came to life. She even added a little silhouette of me with my surfboard, tying in that personal touch and a bit of “Vicky” into every bar.
Looking back, this whole process was such a journey — filled with learning, patience, and growth. I’m beyond proud of how far we’ve come and so grateful for everyone who helped along the way.
You’ll still see our colorful foil-wrapped bars at the farmers markets for now, but keep an eye out — our new packaging is rolling out for retail soon!

Big thanks to Irene for bringing the design to life and to Brian for guiding me through every step of the packaging process.
This has been a long time coming, but I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.
Here’s to growth, new beginnings, and the same Yummmm!Bar you know and love — just dressed up in a fresh new look.
