Acts of Kindness: The Restoration CA Project
The Yummmm!Bar team and I recently volunteered to serve our local homeless community with the Restoration Project.
I was overwhelmed by the love and compassion we got to give…and also that we received. The community's warmth and gratitude deeply touched me to be able to have meaningful conversations.
One moment that really touched me was when the founder noticed a man with only one shoe. He asked “where’s your shoe?” and the man replied that a dog had taken the other. Without hesitation, he gave the man his own shoe.
This small nonprofit definitely needs more hands-on help, donations, and volunteers. They have their event the third Saturday of every month from 8:00am - 11:30am.
